The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Exhibit Description The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has been a long-time supporter of the community with printed materials promoting Metrobus and Metrorail as the way to get to a variety of venues and events throughout the greater Washington region. WMATA has provided interior bus and rail cards to help promote the ABC Family Care giver Expo. Metro-operated parking lots are FREE on weekends and Federal holidays. A SmarTrip® card with enough value to pay the parking fee is required at all other times. The parking gate will not open without sufficient value on the card, and customers ill have to return to the station to add value at the fare vending machines.
